3/1/2022 Update from the CCSD General Manager to All CCSD Employees
On February 25, 2022, the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) announced new COVID-19 metrics. In areas of low or medium risk, the CDC has dropped its recommendation for universal indoor masking. San Luis Obispo County is currently in the low risk tier. People may choose to mask at any time. People with symptoms, a positive test, or exposure to someone with COVID-19 should wear a mask. On February 28, 2022, the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) also released updated guidance for the use of face masks.
The Cambria Community Services District will follow the CDC and CDPH guidance and as of March 1, 2022, masks are no longer required for unvaccinated CCSD employees in indoor public settings. CCSD employees can continue wearing a face mask if they so choose to do so.
All CCSD employees should continue to do the following:
- Clean and disinfect commonly touched surfaces in all CCSD buildings and vehicles at the beginning and end of the day
- Regularly wash hands or use hand sanitizer
- Immediately report to their manager or supervisor or to the Human Resources Department any of the following: (1) the employee’s presentation of COVID-19 symptoms and (2) the employee’s possible COVID-19 close contact exposures.
- If an employee is experiencing COVID-19 symptoms before reporting to work or members of their household are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, the employee needs to notify their supervisor immediately and not report to work before they have been cleared to come to work.COVID-19 symptoms means one of the following: (1) fever of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher or chills; (2) cough; (3) shortness of breath or difficulty breathing; (4) fatigue; (5) muscle or body aches; (6) headache; (7) new loss of taste or smell; (8) sore throat; (9) congestion or runny nose; (10) nausea or vomiting; or (11) diarrhea, unless a licensed health care professional determines the person’s symptoms were caused by a known condition other than COVID-19 and another other symptom identified by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The district will continue to provide CCSD employees with face masks, hand sanitizer and wipes. Additionally, CCSD employees are allowed to get COVID-19 vaccination appointments during their work day and are allowed to use district vehicles to go to and from their appointments.
