The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program is crucial in areas where residents may have to wait for resources and assistance in the event of a major disaster. It allows participants to become more self-sufficient following a disaster, provide emergency assistance to families and coworkers, and work as a team in their workplace or neighborhood during a disaster.
