3/31/2025 Letter from the General Manager
Dear Cambrians,
We would like to inform the public that the previous General Manager's letter included an incorrect link for the evacuation zone map tool. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused.
San Luis Obispo County public safety agencies have collaborated to create pre-established evacuation zones. These zones will enable first responders to quickly identify and manage evacuation areas during emergencies. The zones will also help residents easily determine if they are under an Evacuation Warning or Evacuation Order during an emergency requiring large-scale evacuations.
Knowing your evacuation zone in advance can save you time in an emergency. On Saturday, February 8, 2025, the county's evacuation zone data migrated from Genasys Protect to ArcGIS. While these tools are no longer available as phone apps, they can be accessed through a computer or phone browser.
Please use the following correct link to access the evacuation zone map tool:

After identifying your zone name, be sure to write it down and post it in an easily accessible location. Each zone includes detailed information about its boundaries, status, and any additional updates.
In the event of an Evacuation Order or Warning, emergency officials will use various alert and notification methods, such as Wireless Emergency Alerts and Reverse 911, to inform residents of affected zones. Knowing your evacuation zone in advance will help you respond quickly and efficiently.
Thank you again for your support; I am at your service.
