WUE Walk-Through
What is a WUE Walk-Through?
Water Use Efficiency Walk-Throughs are physical surveys performed by trained CCSD staff to assess the water efficiency status of your home or business. Water efficient fixtures use the least amount of water possible to effectively serve their purpose. Examples of devices inspected include kitchen and bathroom sinks, pre-rinse spray valves (commercial kitchens), dishwashers, washing machines, and irrigation systems. Upgrading non-efficient fixtures or repairing leaks can save you hundreds--or even thousands--of dollars per year. The CCSD has a variety of water efficient fixtures and will provide flow restrictors, showerheads, shower timers, and other incentives as supply allows.
Am I eligible?
WUE Walk-Throughs are available at no cost to all CCSD customers at this time. Your participation in a walk-through not only provides you with a road map to save water (and money), but it also provides the CCSD with valuable information about the status of homes and businesses in our service area. This information will inform future programming efforts to target our assistance where it is most needed.
How long does it take?
Please allow up to two hours for commercial walk-throughs and 90 minutes for residential homes. The actual time needed will vary depending on the number and type of fixtures at your property. You will be asked to complete a pre-walk-through questionnaire which helps CCSD prepare for and execute your Walk-Through as efficiently as possible.
Do I need to be there?
To fully understand how water is used at your property, we need someone present during the walk-through to answer staff questions about particular water fixtures and habits. For commercial properties, this person should be knowledgeable about day-to-day operations, and it may be a different person for outdoor water use and indoor water use.
Where do I sign up?
